At HandMeDown, we want to make sure your items find a happy new home! Here’s what we’re looking for:

No Holes, No Drama!

Please send items that are free from holes, stains, or major damage. A little wear is no biggie, but anything that’s too noticeable won’t make the cut.

Ready to Wear, Anywhere!

Everything should be good to go right out of the box — buttons, zippers, and all the little details should work perfectly.

Fresh & Clean, Please!

Give your items a quick refresh before sending. No strong odors, like smoke or mildew, so they’re ready to impress.

Not Sure? Just Ask!

Got an item that’s a bit iffy? Shoot us a pic via email (info@handmedown.in) and we’ll let you know if it’s good to go. Easy peasy!

What Happens If It Doesn’t Work Out?

If something doesn’t fit the bill, we’ll give you a heads-up. You can either have it sent back (you cover shipping) or donate it to a good cause. If we don’t hear from you in 14 days, we’ll donate it for you—no worries!

We like to keep things simple and fair when it comes to pricing. Here’s the deal:

We Price, You Relax

After your items pass inspection, we’ll set a price based on brand, condition, and current market trends. Since we do this every day, we’ve got a pretty good sense of what sells.

What's your cut?

Depending on the listing price of your item, you'll get anywhere between 30-60% of that after it sells. Don't worry, this'll be conveyed to you as soon as your item passes inspection and is getting ready for listing.

We’ve got you covered when it comes to making your items look their best. Here’s how we handle it:

Picture Perfect!

Once your item passes inspection, we’ll snap professional photos that highlight all the good stuff —front, back, and any cool details. We make sure your item is dressed to impress!

Details, Details, Details!

We’ll list your item covering all the important info like brand, size, condition, and any special features. Buyers get the full scoop, so your item has the best chance to sell quickly.

Send It Our Way!

You’re responsible for shipping your items to us. Once you have all the items ready, let us know the dimensions (length, breadth, height in cm) and weight (in kg). We'll then email you a few things that you need to print out:

  • A shipping label - to stick on the outside of your package.
  • An invoice - to put inside the package.
  • A manifest - to give to the courier representative

We Handle the Rest!

Once your item is sold, we take care of everything from packing it up to shipping it off to the buyer. You don’t need to worry about a thing—we’ve got it covered from here!

Safe and Secure Shipping

We make sure all orders are shipped with trackable methods, so they arrive safely at their new home. If anything comes up along the way, we’ll take care of it.

We’ve got a simple, hassle-free returns process in place to keep things smooth for both sellers and buyers. Here’s how it works:

When Returns Happen

Sometimes, items get returned if they don’t quite match the description. If a buyer reports an issue (like a defect we missed or a sizing problem), we’ll take care of the return process and assess the situation.

No Payment on Returned Items

If your item is returned by the buyer, we won’t be able to pay you.

We’ve Got You Covered

Any returns or refunds are fully managed by our team, so you don’t need to stress. We’ll handle the buyer’s questions, returns, and any issues that pop up.

Here’s how and when you’ll get paid after your item sells:

When Do You Get Paid?

You’ll receive your payment once the item is sold and the buyer’s return period has passed.

How Do You Get Paid?

Payments are sent through
your preferred method—whether that’s bank transfer, UPI, or another option.
Just make sure your payment details are up to date!

Eco-Friendly Packaging

When sending your items to us, we encourage you to use recyclable or reusable packaging. Every little bit helps reduce waste and makes a big difference for the environment!

Donate to a Good Cause

If an item doesn’t sell or is rejected, you can choose to donate it to one of the charities we partner with. It’s a great way to ensure your items still make an impact, even if they don’t end up in someone’s wardrobe.

Less Waste, More Love

By selling your pre-loved items, you’re already helping reduce textile waste. Every item that finds a new home is one less piece ending up in a landfill—so thanks for being part of something bigger!

We keep things fair and square, and we ask you to do the same. Here’s what you need to know:

Authenticity Only!

All items must be the real deal—no counterfeits or knock-offs. By sending us your items, you’re
guaranteeing that they’re authentic. If we find out otherwise, your account may be suspended or closed.

Stay Honest

Always be upfront about the condition and history of your items. We rely on your honesty to keep things
running smoothly for everyone.

If multiple items you send don’t meet our quality standards or if there’s a pattern of dishonest behavior, we will immediately close your account.

Selling counterfeit items is a big no-no. If we find that you’ve submitted any counterfeit or illegal products, your account will be suspended immediately, and further action may be taken.
